The Papillion La Vista Community Theatre is thrilled to announce it has partnered with Pinnacle Bank and Meta to provide two nights of free tickets for their production of Newsies, a stage musical based on the 1992 Disney musical film, Newsies, which was inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City.

Newsies will run from July 15th -17th and July 21st -23rd at SumTur Amphitheater in Papillion. Meta (The Sarpy Data Center) and Pinnacle Bank have generously provided free tickets for the General Admission seating area of the outdoor theater venue. Pinnacle Bank has sponsored free tickets on Saturday, July 16th and Meta has sponsored free tickets on Thursday, July 21st .

Providing quality, family-friendly, and unique entertainment at an affordable price is at the heart of the Papillion La Vista Community Theatre’s mission and the organization is incredibly grateful to Meta and Pinnacle Bank for helping take that vision even bigger for the 2022 summer production with free admission. “We know these are companies that care about the place their team calls home so we knew they would be great partners in making this big, bold idea happen,” said PLVCT Board Member, Georgie Scurfield. “Eliminating barriers between our community and the arts is integral to our work and we are so glad Meta and Pinnacle share that same passion.”

Free tickets to performances on the 16th and the 21st will be available to be picked up in person starting June 13th at the Papillion Landing Community Recreation Center as well as all three of Pinnacle Bank’s locations in Papillion. Tickets are limited to 6 per person and must be presented at SumTur on the 16th and 21st. There is a limited supply of free tickets for the July 16th and 21st performances, so pick them up before they’re gone!

Tickets for the other nights of the production start at $10 (plus tax and fees) and can be purchased online at or at the SumTur box office on the day of the show. SumTur Amphitheater offers reserved stadium seating as well as general admission lawn seating. Attendees enjoying the musical from the lawn are encouraged to arrive early with blankets and lawn chairs. Onsite concessions will be available, but is limited to beer, wine, water, soft drinks, and popcorn. Guests may also bring their own food and beverages to enjoy during the show, with the exception of alcohol.
